    3. I don't suppose any of your folk married an OLLARD, did they? I'm told they were cobblers and lived along the canal.... I know there is an Allard Bridge somewhere there, and possibly Allard and Ollard are interchaneable, as our Trott and Tratt are.... If there are any haystacks around Longford (at this time of year? and come to think of it, I never saw but one haystack when on my two precious visits to Ireland, and that was in Donegal!) I'm pretty sure you'd find my OLLARDs hiding out in them... Go well! Ivy in South Africa.

Wow, quite impressive. Is the canal near Leitrim by any chance? I guess that the Ollards come from Drumlish. We should make a list of Drumlish people like Drumkerron has. My understanding is that there were only about 300+ people there in early 1800s. There is the history of the Cooney family of RI on the Longford site. Maybe it would have some info for you. They are from Drumlish originally. I'll try to dig up what I can for you and others with whom we have been chatting about the parish of Drumlish, Killoe. Thanks, Jane
