Hi Its come to my attention that my Doner/Dooner line just may have been from County Longford. After much research and some speculation to that effect I've seen the name on line there. I'd like to exchange info with anyone with that surname. My ancestors left in 1850s or thereabouts and ended up in Northern Illinois (no record of them between a stop of couple years in London and their arrival in Northern Illinois). Debra
Hello Debra: Read your post re surname DOONER w/interest as I have DOONER & variants in my data-base w/direct connection to a branch of my family (surname LEAVY) who originated in Co. Longford i.e. Edgeworthstown; Longford Parish & Parish Ardagh & Moyd. None of my info indicates that my people immig. into USA but rather, they were in Quebec, Canada from ca 1826 >>>>>>> I have many other surnames connected (via m etc) i.e: FARRELL/HICKEY/LEAVY/KELLY/POWER/CASEY/GORMAN/DILLON If you see anything/anyone familiar here let me know.
