    1. Re: Cahanagh County Longford

Your nearest cemeteries would be there or nearby. There is a "general" cemetery there attached to the Church of Ireland church - but I understand that there were periods in Ireland's history where both denominations were buried in the same cemetery. There is also a general graveyard in the townland of St. Anne's Glebe. I had hoped that this would be a cemetery attached to the church ruin a few hundred yards of Newown Forbes, along the N 4 and between it and the railroad. But my townland maps for this area are poorly labeled, and I can't be sure if this ruin is located in St. Anne's Glebe (BTW, the St. Anne's Glebe reference is from Mitchell's book on Irish Graveyards). In any case, SAG is just next to (or part of) Newtown Forbes' north to northeast segment. And - somewhere there - there's a graveyard. I wish I could be more precise. Cahanagh is also only slightly farther (another mile) from Longford town itself than from Newtown Forbes. The Mitchell book shows only one graveyard in Longford town, associated with the Church of Ireland on Church Street. I don't have names for any of these churches/graveyards, but the church websites might be of some assistance. If you have trouble with that, let me know and I'll see what I can find.
