I read about the George and Ann in the Longford Link (not Irl-Longford). It referred to a site on Tombstone which I have not found again. Father William McCloughery got sick and stayed behind with his youngest son Tom. All the male McC's on the George and Ann died. Tom came over 30 to 40 years later and from him came the McC's and Lauries including the ones at Tombstone. I saw the name Cloughery at a Catholic school in Longford. So I am looking for the Longford-Roscommon link.. As you know, the McClougherys were Scots Presbyterian. I figure intermarriage included raising the children Catholic (it did not matter. Both RCs and Presbyterians were dissenter, non-Anglican). Hence, my Roman Catholic Clougher family. It's opened up a whole line of inquiry.
