It's time we had a Roll Call. If you have never seen a Roll Call - this is where you tell the list who you are researching in Longford. You can tell as much or as little as you like. Please change the subject line to include your surnames. The people who are getting digest versions of the list may not open a bunch of emails that just say Roll Call. Your replies are set to come back to the list so we can all see what is being said. Thanks! Christina Listowner Longford-L
My great grandfather Bernard McGovern was born somewhere in Longford in 1815 and came to the U.S. in 1834, settling first in Pennsylvania, then Wisconsin and finally Dubuque County, Iowa, in about 1852. He married Mary Ann Hines of Kilkenney, in the U.S.
Searching for Cornelius Garrahan (Longford 1800), married Bridget Doolin (Westmeath 1814). Emigrated to Argentina, before 1843.
