Eliz,, I don't know if this information will help you pin point your Greer's but I thought it might be worth a try.?? There is a James Greer in the Tithe Applotment? 1823-1835, the townland was Leitrim, Civil Parish was Granard.?? Also, I looked for Greer's in the 1901 Census and find a? John? Greer? in Leitrim,? (Granard Rural D.E.D.) .?? In the earlier records the 1823-1835, James is the only one listed who spelling is Greer, there? are others who spell it Grier, but no? Johns.?? I'm hoping this information will help you get started.??? Do keep in mind that the spelling of last names? could be either way and still be your relative.??? I have found this many times with the Mulledy family? (spelling was not a big deal).
