Actually Abbeylara does have its own church--or chapel, as it would have been known during the British period--in addition to the ruined monastery. One of my distant cousins, Father William Gray, was parish priest there in the 1890s and must have baptized Rhoda's relative. Nancy -------------- Original message from "David A. Nancy I will look for my Grandmother's baptism certificate - I assume the priest would have signed it - and let you know if it was your relative. My Grandmother was the second child and another 4 children were born in Granard before the family moved to Lanarkshire, Scotland in 1898/9. So your relative probably baptised those as well. Rhoda, If you have the original baptism certificate, the baptizing priest probably did sign it. If you have a certificate issued later, it will be signed by the pastor (or secretary) at the time of issuance. It will list the name of the priest who actually baptized.
