I am looking for information about Matthew DORIS, born 1800 Newtown Forbes, Co. Longford, IRE. The information that we have now says that he was a Catholic priest and that he left the priesthood to marry Annie MCGUIRE. We don't know if they married in Co Longford or if they married in New York after they arrived. I tend to think it was in Co Longford. Annie MCGUIRE was born 1818 in Co Longford. Their first child was born in New York in Nov 1838. A cousin on a tour through Co Longford 3-4 years ago met a John Doris who said he remembered hearing the story. But the tour bus had to leave and he didn't get to talk but a few minutes and not long enough to get into the family far enough. Is there someway someone in Longford could find out anything for me.
