Dear Longford Listers - coming to Ireland October 2000. Hoping to see final restings spots of some of the McClaughry clan. Thanks to a tremendous amount of time and effort much has been documented by some of my long distance counsins. My primary tie is James McClaughry. Not much known other than he may have come alone to Long Island, N.Y. in the 1700s. He appears to have married a Catherine Ellsworth in N.Y. Any information out there??? Much more is known about James' cousins, uncles: Matthew McClaughry - born c 1665. Died March 12, 1773, Cleghill Parish, Clonbroney, Co. Longford. Wife Margaret. William McClaughry, born c 1632 in Scotland. Died 12 March 1773, also Cleghill Parish. Wife Katherine Reid. My maps are not very complete so can someone help me locate: Cleghill Parish, Clonbroney, Co. Longford Clongish Parish Churchyard Old Temple Buring Grounds, Longford A town called Leam where some family sailed from in Sept 1765. Also, we arive in Dublin around 2:30 pm. Is it reasonable to assume we can rent a car and get to Longford the same afternoon. Would we be better to say in Dublin or close proximity and then start out?? Any recommended spots in Dublin area or Longford? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated. I live in Omaha, Nebraska so if I can help anyone out from here lete me know. Thank you. Joyce
