Ireland, Newtown Forbes. The Forbes isn't clear, it could be Fortis. Does anyone know of a town with this name or one similar to it in Longford County?
Hi Carol, The area which you refer to is Newton Forbes slightly NW of Longord and is an area which was Known as the Scottish Quarters in the 17th and 18th Century. I believe Newton Forbesis in the Civil Parish of Clongesh.
