Researching the family and ancestors of BERNARD HESLAN who was born in Longford c 1830. In 1847, aged 17, he enlisted in the army at the same time as a JOHN HESLAN, aged 18, but I don' t know if or how they were related. Bernard's father was PATRICK HESLAN, linen weaver. Bernard's army record states he was born in the parish of DRUMARD. Can anyone advise me if baptismal records exist for this period. He was R.C.
