Looking for info on Hugh O'Beirne, born in Longford or Roscommon about 1765. Married Jane Finley who died in about 1830. He was a sargent major in the British Army but I don't know the dates. Hugh and at least 4 children, John, Thomas, Joseph, and Michael, emigrated to US about 1837. We cannot find any more info in Ireland on this Hugh. His sons changed the spelling to BURNS and BEIRNE once in the US. Anyone have any suggestions as to where we can look for info? How can we access marriage, baptism and death records? Any help, suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. Susan K. Spies
