My great-grandfather, Thomas McGOEY (born abt. 1820) married Anna HART (born abt. 1828) in County Longford. Catherine McGOEY married James HART in County Longford. I believe Thomas and Catherine were siblings and I know that Anna and James were siblings. The other HART sisters married a McLOUGHLIN, REYNOLDS, and MAHONS, who I believe were from County Longford, but I am not sure. In Catherine (McGOEY) HART's obituary (died abt. 1911 in Illinois, USA), it listed her father as P.D. McGoey from County Longford. I have no other information on P.D. McGoey. Hi, Just a note to let you know that the McGoey's that I know were in the Ardagh/Moydow Parish. There is still living McGoey's at Abbyshurle Townland. There is a Ted McGoey that own the Rustic Lounge there.
