Hi all I have had considerable success with the Longford Roots Heritage Centre. I've found it to be more successful (and cheaper) to ask one question at a time. One bit of information leads to another, as we all know ! Last year when I was in Ireland, I dropped in to see Longfords Roots. They said that they had nothing new for me - however, an elderly volunteer sitting in a corner said " Why don't you go and talk to the postman who used to handle the mail for Ballinalee; he is living in the Nursing Home just down the road" He knew all the Forbes family history and gave us precise directions how to find them. The road was built in the days of donkey carts but we bumped up it and found the old family farm. I now have a whole set of second cousins that I never knew existed, and a very frank description of my grandfather whom I never met. Sheila Forbes Ontario, Canada
