A Reverend Radigan performed a marriage ceremony in 1840 for Alexander MCDONALD and Ellen CONNOLLY somewhere, somewhere in County Longford. Can anyone tell me the names of any Catholic churches who had a Rev. Radigan in this time frame? The couple went to NYC in the mid-1840s and raised a family, until Alex abandoned them in 1857. Their two oldest sons fought on the Union side in the American Civil War. I found this information in an affadavit by Ellen when she applied for a pension, after her unmarried son was killed in battle. It's my only clue as to where in County Longford this family came from. Any clues? Judith Haller jhaller@io.com

Judith and list, Catholic Clergy are listed in the "The Catholic Directory, Almanack and Registry" which has been issued annually from 1836. I believe it lists priests alphabetically by diocese and gives their parishes. So all you need is a good library <s>. If you give your location someone on the list may be able to suggest one.
