Agnes Many irish from South Longford and from Co. Westmeath came to Argentina during the famine years and onwards. Excuse my english, I speak spanish. Duggan were between the first settlers here in Buenos Aires, and one of them, Michael Duggan was the most prominent figure in the Irish community here. The Southern Cross , the irish newspaper here mentioned him as the most irish rich man in the River Plate and may be of the world. There were some brothers that setthed here, but Michael was not married, the others brothers did. I think this family came from Abbeyshrule in South Longford. This place is also called Taghshinny.My Mac Cormack family came from this place also, the rest of my irish ancestors came from Co. Westmeath . I can check something here if you wish.
