    2. There was one listing of a McCabe in Aghnagarron in the 1901 census, her name was Margaret, so you might be lucky and find a few still around that area.?? So, I think the information and advise you've received is good.?? Go to the local Parish and check things out. Have a great trip. Susan Mulledy -----Original Message----- From: Donna K. 3. Hi Donna: Re your visit to Ireland & Longford Co. I do envy you !! My suggestion is to go to Birmingham Library, Worcestershire. I cannot give any details re exact location but a few yr's ago a fellow researcher visited there & obtained some fantastic info for me re my very early GILBERT people w/ref to St-Edburgha's, Yardley, Worcestershire. Most of these ancestors show as having been from Granard; Yardley et al area's. Hope this helps. I'm sure someone w/more knowledge may be able to help you. Good luck & best wishes re your trip. 1. Re: [IRL-LONGFORD] O'Reilly/Reilly and Longford
    2. Hello, Barbara! I have a cousin in Edmonds, Charlene Robinson. Know her? I do not show that any of our kin, the Tullys, ever married into the Reilly or O'Reilly family at all. I saw plenty of that name (usually plain Reilly) as I looked through parish records for Longford, but they never married Tullys and Tullys never married them. I don't know why not. Have you checked the microfilms that the Family History Centers have? As for being able to help you with your family, I can't. In my records, I have only a Bernard Reilly acting as a sponsor for a Lynch baptism in Drumlish, and a Patrick Reilly a sponsor for a Quinn baptism also in Drumlish. I don't see that I copied any other Reillys, and the only reason I have these Reillys is that Tullys were involved with the Lynches or Quinns. 1. [IRL-LONGFORD] O'Reilly/Reilly and Longford
    2. `Hi, I discovered my mother's GGF came to the US from Ireland between 1875 and early 1880 as they are in the 1880 census. I've not been able to find record of them coming into the country or on ships going into Canada. Robert and Catherine Kelly O'Reilly/Reilly/Riley are the parents. Their first child is James, my GGF, who is baptized in 1850 at Newtown Forbes John Reilly (1852) and Mary Ann (1854) at St Mary's Edgeworthstown Robert Reilly (1861) Elizabeth (1864-5) Kate (1859) Margaret 6 Mar 1871 Ballinalee, Longford Jane (1871?) Spelling of family name is Rielly with parents Robert and Catherine 1880 census for Brooklyn, ED 222, SD 2 Baltic Street Riley, Robert, 50 , b. 1830 Laborer Riley, Robert Jr 19 Laborer Catherine 21 Elizabeth 16 b. 1864/5 Margaret 9 b. 6 Mar 1871 Ballinalee The following children are not listed with the family at this address: James b.1850 (Newtown Forbes) who married in Brooklyn in 1876 and moved to Mamakating, NY James lists his age as six years younger than he actually is it is -1856 instead of 1850. John Riley, b .2 May 1852 St Mary's Edgeworthstown He's a widower who dies in Brooklyn in Dec 1924 and is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery Brooklyn Mary Ann Reilly b. 1854 St Mary's, Edgeworthstown Jane Reilly b. 1874? Found a baptism listed as Rielly for Robert & Catherine I've also found the obituary of my GGF James Reilly who died on May 11, 1906 in Orange County, NY This lists his children George W. (Of Middletown); Charles - Burlingham Mamie of Goshen Mrs Sadie McCue of NYC. Also his two sisters Mrs. Clark of NYC and Margaret Reilly and two brothers: John and Robert in Brooklyn. I believe Mrs. Clark to be Elizabeth. Mamie is Mary Reilly also called Minnie on other documents. She is a nurse who trained at Thrall School of Nursing in Middletown. The last daughter, Jane, b. in 1874 remained in Ireland and is living in Belfast at the time of John's death in 1924. Catherine Reilly married James Hart(e)(en) in 1882 in Chicago. James Harte entered through NYC.but relocated to Chicago. I think that Catherine Reilly, the wife of Robert Reilly Sr may have died in childbirth or soon after the birth of Jane. The rest of the family goes to America and Jane is left in Ireland with family. She's living in Dublin in 1924 when her brother John dies and leaves an estate of $3,000 cash and "some worthless lots on Long Island." Can anyone help me find them entering the US? They may have come through Canada. The information above is all that I have. Thanks for any tips, ideas, especially bright ideas and comments. Thanks! 2. I read about the George and Ann in the Longford Link (not Irl-Longford). It referred to a site on Tombstone which I have not found again. Father William McCloughery got sick and stayed behind with his youngest son Tom. All the male McC's on the George and Ann died. Tom came over 30 to 40 years later and from him came the McC's and Lauries including the ones at Tombstone. I saw the name Cloughery at a Catholic school in Longford. So I am looking for the Longford-Roscommon link.. As you know, the McClougherys were Scots Presbyterian. I figure intermarriage included raising the children Catholic (it did not matter. Both RCs and Presbyterians were dissenter, non-Anglican). Hence, my Roman Catholic Clougher family. It's opened up a whole line of inquiry. 1. [IRL-LONGFORD] Birth in Ballinalee 1862
    2. Hi, I'm hoping someone will be able to help me break down my brick wall on my Reilly/O'Reilly/Riley side. I'm trying to find the birth record of Catherine Reilly whose parents are Robert and Catherine Kelly Reilly. Her date of birth is April 27, 1862. Their last child was Jane Reilly and I believe she was born about 1872 or thereabout. She was listed on a GED but the last name was mispelled to Riely or Rielly. The father, Robert Reilly, came to the US with his sons John, James, and Robert and a daughter. He shows up in the 1880 census in Brooklyn with his family. I'm thinking that perhaps his wife died during or shortly after childbirth. The 1880 census shows Robert Reilly in Brooklyn with his two sons--Robert and John--and a daughter. Jane was too young to travel so she remained at home probably with relatives. I believe I have a picture of her taken in Dublin. Anyone have any ideas how I can find out if Jane's mother died in childbirth? I believe she was born @ 1872 in Longford. Her older sister, Catherine, was born in Balinalee on Apr 27, 1872 or maybe 1874. Any suggestions on how to go about finding out more about this family. They supposedly came through Canada to Brooklyn prior to 1880. Maybe after the mother died in childbirth or from some disease and the baby was too young to travel. Suggestions/ideas greatly appreciated. Jane Reilly was living in Dublin in 1924 when her older brother, John, died in Brooklyn NY. Thanks!
