    1. [IRL-LONGFORD] Cartronbore Longford
    2. June Capstick
    3. Good evening I am new to family history in Ireland and hav'nt done any research for at least 6 years now and have got out of the swing of things so please bear with me. I have just discovered which birth certificate belongs to my Great Granny and I'm very excited about it! I have been trying to find a map of where she lived but I'm now wondering if there is such a place and maybe its the name of a house. It's CARTRONBORE , Longford, Granard Has anyone any information on this place please? I do realise most people will be out celebrating tonight so I won't expect a speedy reply :) Happy New Year to you all! He seems to be able to find any location, however obscure. However, there are two townlands somewhat to the east of Drumlish called Cartron Upper and Cartron Lower, so these may have some connection with the place you are looking for. Good luck with your research. 2. Christina Hunt
    3. For those of you who loved Angela's Ashes, there is a new children's Christmas book out. It is called "Angela and the baby Jesus". My best friend read it at work today with a touch of Irish lilt which really made it come alive. It is about young Angela, who is concerned about the baby Jesus in the manger because he has no clothes. She is afraid he is cold and decides to do something about it. Not your usual Children's Christmas book. LOL You can take a look at the book on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Angela-Baby-Jesus-Frank-McCourt/dp/1416937897 I am not pushing the book. Just thought you would like to be aware that has been published. Christina

    3. Hi List: There is a John Morton, listed in the 1823 Tithe Applotment, in Taghshinny, Shrule Civil Parish. It is possible that this John Morton is the father of my great grand father, Peter Morton (Peter's 1st son was named John Morton ). However, Shrule is not listed in the C of I List of Parish Registers. Can anyone advise which C of I Register the record of John Morton may be listed in 1823 ? Why is this Register not listed in the C of I published list ? Kindest Regards Jim White Naples, Florida
