    1. [IRL-LONGFORD] Hughes from Killoe, Co. Longford
    2. Hi Ronnie, If your Hughes ancestors came from the area around Killoe maybe there is a chance because I think my Hughes family moved around a bit in County Longford. There are so many Hughes families in Ireland that it is tough. I don't have much info on my Hughes family other than that they came from Killoe. I would like to see if I can get more County Longford info on them and then I can answer people relative to who they might be related to. Question: Do you know where in Longford your Hughes family came from? Thanks for the response, Charlie King gg grandson of James Hughes and Bridget Keliher of Killoe, County Longford Ronnie wrote: My greatgrandfather was James V Hughes and I believe his father's name might have been Charles Michael but not sure. (Have no proof) - James was married to Sara McKeon of Longford County. I would love to know if any of your hughes' are related to mine. 1. Re: [IRL-LONGFORD] NOLAN
    2. Hi, Saw your post and wondered if you know anything about Elizabeth Nolan Ryan of Kilkenny, who married Patrick Ryan of Kilkenny (They are the parents of James Joseph Ryan, who was my great-grandfather). As well, Bridget Kavanaugh married James Murphy of Kilkenny (They were the parents of my great-grandmother, Johanna Mary Murphy. She married James J. Ryan when they both got to the USA. This all happenend between 1833 and 1899 in Graig, Kilkenny, Ireland. The above names were all my great-great-grandparents, four families all from Kilkenny, who had children who emigrated to the USA. I can give you lots more details if you are interested in the above names. In a message dated 1/24/2008 6:53:15 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, davidamyers@mindspring.com writes: Jim, Are we related? Our Nolans are from Co Kilkenny, Ireland, went to Iowa and married Francis Smith. They moved to Portland, Oregon where my grandfather, Francis Smith, Jr. married Ellen Kavanaugh. The Kavanaughs eventually went to Lewiston, ID and Walla Walla, WA. We have bundles of Nolan relatives in Iowa. 1. [IRL-LONGFORD] Family history - BAKER and CAREY
    2. Austen Bird
    3. I am researching the above families. My father Michael Joseph BAKER, was born at Ballinalee (Larkfield) near Granard, but my grandparents Thomas BAKER and Catherine CAREY came from Westmeath. They married at Mullingar in 1860 and lived at Clonmoyle, near Gaybrook House. just south of there. Their children were as follows; Edward born 1861; Jane born 1866; Michael born 1867; James born 1872; Ellen born 1875; Frances born 1878 and Thomas born 1881. There are no BAKERs living at Clonmoyle now, but some ran a Garden Nursery there at the turn of the last century. I should be grateful for any information as to their whereabouts. Thank you Catherine Bird
