Know of one Leavy in researching my Tynan family. Records are from Parish of Clonbroney, baptisms of children of Edward Tynan and C. Leavy. Children: Bridget bap 12/1850, Catherine bap. 2/1858, Margaret bap. 11/1861. Good luck.
Hi: I am researching the surname LEVY (or could be spelled LEVI, LEAVY OR LEVEY. On death records here in Canada of my ancestors, place of birth is shown as Ireland, pretty vague!!! However, I have done some research through LDS and have noted that the name LEVY has shown up in Longford, so I am going to try and start searching there. I am particularly looking for information on a Patrick Levy who was married to a Mary Bemrick/Bamick? (not sure of this surname), both born in Ireland. From what records I have it would seem they emigrated to Canada in the early 1830's. If anyone is researching this surname, I would appreciate hearing from you. Marilyn in Ontario, Canada.

Hello all: I am searching for information on my 6th g-grandfather Arthur WALLACE. He was born about 1721. Family search so far indicates Longford as his birthplace/residence, however the town/area? Sampford has arisen. Is Sampford near Longford or in Co. Longford? Arthur WALLACE was married to Nancy Peggy JOHNSON b. abt. 1730 also from Longford. In addition to my 5th g-grandfather Robert, Arthur and Nancy also had James, William, Sarah and Bell(e). To my knowledge they did not come to America. Would there by chance be any information on those who remained in Ireland or any present day descendents of the family listed above? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. William Wallace III
I am looking for information on James, Ann, Mary Ann, and Patrick Nedley who were father, mother, daughter, and son born in County Longford Ireland and who immigrated to Apalachicola, Florida sometimes during 1852-54. They are listed as English although born in Ireland (Irie). If you can help, contact me at: pmbetros@aol.com Paul Betros great great grandson of James and Ann Nedley.

To get miraculous info about location of a townland or other Irish geographic division try the IreAtlas Townland Data Base website <www.seanruad.com/> David Leahy's Griffiths index lists a Michael McLoughlin at Druming in 1854. In his 1901 Census index there was and Anne McLoughlin there. He found the name in numerous other townlands with variant spellings including McLoughlan, McGloughlin, McLloughlin and McGloughlan as well as McLoughlin and McLaughlin. In 1854 there were also a John Kenny and a Judith Farrell at Druming. Rachel Smith >

Agnes Many irish from South Longford and from Co. Westmeath came to Argentina during the famine years and onwards. Excuse my english, I speak spanish. Duggan were between the first settlers here in Buenos Aires, and one of them, Michael Duggan was the most prominent figure in the Irish community here. The Southern Cross , the irish newspaper here mentioned him as the most irish rich man in the River Plate and may be of the world. There were some brothers that setthed here, but Michael was not married, the others brothers did. I think this family came from Abbeyshrule in South Longford. This place is also called Taghshinny. My Mac Cormack family came from this place also, the rest of my irish ancestors came from Co. Westmeath . I can check something here if you wish. Hi, In the 1820's in rural Tipperary, what is the likelihood that a young man would marry at the age of 16 years? I have a good poss. that a Michael Barry is my ancestor, but that means he would have been 16 when he married. Anybody w. experience know the answer? Thanks, Agnes
I am looking for some info on my grandfather, Michael DUGAN. I have his citizenship paper, which lists him as "Michael Duggan", so it may have been changed. He died in 1925 in NYC (I have the death cert.) Anyway, he came from Ireland, but exactly where, I don't know. He married Bridget Donnell from CASHEL, County Tipperary. I believe they married in the US, but I'm not certain. They lived in the Bronx, NY, had six children: Edward, John, Joseph, Ellen, May and Anne (my mother). I seem to recall that Michael came from County Clare, but this is a hazy memory. I know John Dugan married Anna McGinn (sp.?) and they had a son, John who would be my cousin, but I have no info on him. I'd love any help with finding my cousin, John, and esp. finding out where my gf came from to see if there are any relatives there. Thanks to all who can help. Agnes
I don't have any Mullens that I've identified. The only info I have on this family is that Patrick Moughty came to the US in 1907 and his destination in the US was Thomas Gorman in NYC who was listed as a "cousin." The names surrounding Patrick on the ship's manifest included a Mullen, so they might have been traveling together. Regards... Hello All, I am searching for a John Neil, born about 1788 in County Longford, and his wife, A. Cox, born about 1801, in the same county. Both were Catholic and emigrated to Quebec, Canada, between 1828 and 1833. Is it possible to find a record of their marriage in County Longford, without having a parish or townland name? This couple had at least 2 children before leaving Ireland: William Neil, born about 1827, and Mary Neil, born about 1828. Any pointers would be appreciated, Wanda
Hi there! I have started a new category on the County Longford GenWeb page called Research Notes. If you have extracted a surname from a church record for instance, I will place them in this category for others to be able to benefit from. Just send me a text file and I will put it on the web page. Please give me a name for the source used and time frame included. Thanks for your help with this project! (If you have any questions drop me a line.) Regards, Christina County Longford GenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~irllog/
