    3. I am going to quit this list for a while because I am focusing my attentions on a different line and all this email from all over the world is simply overwhelming me! However, I thought I'd post one more time to see if there are any from my husband's line. The names I am searching for are James MORAN and Rose Kearney. Their daughter Ann MORAN emigrated to America through New Jersey in 1845 at the age of 19. My information is that she came from Longford but I am aware that there were very few of either surname in Longford. Anyone who has any information please email me since I am signing off the list: vhulderman@excite.com Thank you _______________________________________________________ Send a cool gift with your E-Card http://www.bluemountain.com/giftcenter/

She was the daughter of Mary Sheridan and Patrick Cox. Mary is buried in Tashinny Cemetery in Tashinny, Longford. Ann married John Owens from Legan, Longford. They came to Brockton, MA in about 1851. Ann Cox Owens had several siblings....Edward and Maria..possibly more. I know that she named one of her daughters Elizabeth. Any connection?

    3. Posted on: County Longford, Ireland Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/Ireland/Longford/744 Surname: BRADY, HOURICAN, BRIODY ------------------------- The short answer is, no. But with all the BRADYs and BRIODYs on my father's HOURICAN side, there might be a tie I'm just not aware of. One of the things that makes this stuff hard to figure out is the wide age range among the children of my paternal gr gr-parents; their oldest seems to have been born in 1811 & the youngest maybe 1848. I know of some of the people who didn't emigrate but only a few of those who did. Oh well, there's probably a family tie there somewhere but we won't be able to solve the mystery. Thanks for your response.

My Mary Gorman, b. Balinalee, Longford about 1846, oldest child of James Bartholomew Gorman and Bridget Mary Devin. Sent to NYC at age 15, arriving 1861-2. She married Thomas Joseph Heslin, son of Thomas Heslin and Catherine McKeon of Longford in Nov. 1868. In 1920's Mary & Thomas lived on the West Side of NY, at 90th St. Mary had a sister Annie in NY, brother Edward and Bernard. Perhaps others. Now, there were twins Katie and James Gorman living near her, but I am unsure if they were her younger siblings or her Niece and Nephew, but I believe the later. Katie GORMAN was born Balinlee Co Longford, had twin brother James GORMAN. Patrick Brady had a brother John, and a twin sister Katie Brady. Katie GORMAN m. Patrick Brady, named their son James, b. 1910 NY.They were living at that time on West 96th Street, parish of the Blessed Sacrament. Katie Gorman Brady d. 1965, buried with Patrick Brady at Calvary. Catherine (also Katie) Brady. twin sister of Patrick Brady, m. Katie Gorman's twin brother James Gorman. They named their son Joseph Gorman. OK, does anything seem familiar?

    3. Hi there ... :)) I have a few questions about clans ... does one have to bear the name to be in a clan? My gr-gr-grandfather was a Hagarty, and I found that Hagart was/is a sept in the Scots clan Ross. How far back can your ancestor be, for you to belong to a clan? My gr-gr-grandfather's name was James Hagarty from Longford, Ireland, and he emigrated to PA, USA in the mid-1800's. He was born in the 1830's. Can someone from Longford belong to a Scot clan? Would that make him a Scots-Irish? I hope I haven't asked too many questions. :)) Thank you for all your help, and have a happy day!! :)) Phyllis
