    3. You need David Leahy's excellent map in the back of his "County Longford & Its People." It shows every townland. Too big for me to scan. The website http://www.pasthomes.com/index.php has townland maps for sale, but I haven't seen them "in person." Good luck! --

    1. Map of "Ballinamuck East"?
    2. Anderson
    3. Does anyone have a detailed map showing the layout of townlands in the area between Drumlish and Ballinamuck on the west, and east as far as Aghnacliff that they could scan and send me? Or direct me to an online map showing these places? I believe this area is currently known as "Ballinamuck East". I haven't yet found an online or offline map that shows the communities of Corrinagh, Edenmore and Rathmore, which are evidently in this area. Andy Anderson

    3. My late uncle, James Devine, (God rest his soul) had a friend named Pat Igoe, from Dublin. I have never seen nor heard the name anywhere else. It's been eight years since I last met Pat Igoe. -----Original Message----- From: Matt Mahady [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Sunday, February 13, 2005 7:39 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [LONGFORD] Igo/Igoe James, the following details were recorded during my Irish Research, in and around Longford Town, and were copied down due to my having noted every form of spelling which could relate to my Mahadys, and included the Mallady name in this instance, plus any Caherly names which I found during this time, due to my own Gt.Grandmother being Ann Caherly. My own Mahadys were from Clonbroney and I found all of their Marriage and Birth details at the Ballinalee RC Church which is located abt2 miles from both Clonbroney and Killoe. Should you happen to find some form of connection, please let me know as I update my Records when such takes place. 1. [ADMIN] LOOKUPS TOPIC CLOSED
    2. Christina Hunt
    3. Please read! 1.) The topic of lookups in the Leahy book is now CLOSED. We do have lookups being offered on the County Longford website. http://www.rootsweb.com/~irllog/lookup.htm If you have access to the Griffith's Valuation CD by FTM you can get the same basic information. This book is extremely difficult to do a look up in unless the name is rare. Others have already said this and it is true. The names are all jumbled in by location - not alphabetically by first name. 2.) Please thank people privately because it wastes time for the rest of the list to read "thankyous". This list is set up so replies go to the list but we have to discriminate as to whether our replies should go to the list or be sent privately. You should be able to view an email address and copy/paste that into a fresh email. 3.) Questions are better addressed to the list rather than to a person on the list. If someone has an answer, they will help. 4.) Again - watch subject headings. I don't like to see the digest number as the subject. I know this takes extra effort but please WATCH THOSE SUBJECTS LINES. Thanks, Christina Listowner IRL-LONGFORD

I'll be most grateful for any information given on how to find an 1848 to 1863 Longford or Granard census. Thank you, Ursula
