    3. Hi there I am looking for the Kearney/Carney family that came to South Africa with the Aided Immigration to the Cape. On that list the name is spelt KEARNEY but on one of the Death Notices I have for James it is spelt Carney. I have the following - they arrived on the Coldstream II in September 1861 Bridget age 18 (my great great grandmother) Edmond age 22 John age 26 from LIMERICK with his wife Mary age 25 (maiden name unknown) I have the following - they arrived on the Tudor in February 1860 James age 26 - On his Death Notice it states that he was from Broadford, Co. Clare - parents Michael Carney & Mary Naughton Patrick age 24 with his wife Catherine Shaughnessy age 20 Then there is a John age 27 from NICOLAS STREET, LIMERICK arrived on the Relief in July 1864 I have looked everywhere and can't find anything about them in Ireland. I am convinced they are all related, either siblings or cousins and all these names appear as witnesses to Bridget's children' baptisms. They are all Roman Catholic. I was wondering if there is someone who as access to baptism records who can shed some light as to where exactly they came from and if they are siblings. All information will be greatly appreciated. Patty - South Africa
