I just found a new article from 1836 about a Cornelius FRAWLEY in Ahawilk Parish, Mahoonagh, Limerick He is listed as a land owner. My Cornelius Frawley(b.1799) and his brother, Patrick (b.1793) are in Ontario, Canada in 1837 as land owners We think they came to Canada in 1832 but are not sure. I think the name Cornelius is a bit unusual and wonder if the landowner in Limerick is at least related. Can anyone find any info on him or the area? This is the first possible Frawley lead in Limerick (all we know is they came from Limerick). I know they named their sons after family and Patrick had sons Jeremiah, Nicholas, John, Michael, Thomas. Cornelius had a daughter Honora. They both named a son Cornelius. thanks, Chris Hunt
Hi Chris, Do you know if he was ever in the military before coming to Canada? My ggggrandparents came from Limerick 1831 and was settled on their land grant in 1832. He had commuted his commission in the military. Also have you tried to look at the site www.ourroots.ca to see if he is mentioned in any of the books. Also research at this site to see if he is mentioned in any of the military litsts http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/lso.
