The TUTORIAL was not created until AFTER the changes. Try it...it works. You can still search FREE OF CHARGE. (but I do agree w/ you...it's a bad move on their part!) ----- Original Message ----- From: "George Kelly" <kelly48@eircom.net> To: irl-limerick@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, March 25, 2012 6:16:23 PM Subject: Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] Roots Ireland The "Tutorial" seems to be the position before the new procedure.Up to now it was possible to go through index free of charge, until one found a likely entry. This is no longer the case.10 cent per set of 10 records in index doesn't sound like much but for those unfortunates who have little or no idea where their family originated this could be a very expensive process.Rootsireland.ie have a captive audience, which they appear to want to exploit. This short term view of Irish genealogy is not a positive move.Isn't it about time that these records, which were largely transcribed as part of a work experience programme back in the 1980's were made freely available to all.Even from a purely selfish promotion of Irish tourism for the huge number of people of Irish heritage in USA and elsewhere a new look at this by government would be far more lucrative. -----Original Message----- From: Little.House.Antiques A tutorial on how to use the rootsireland.ie site and not get charged ANYTHING when doing the searches now up online at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~shanahan/ifhf_tutorial.html Hope this is helpful...threw it together awfully fast. Any questions please just address to the list and I'll try and answer. Happy Hunting Kathy

This still definately works! I use it all the time. You need not to click on the button where it costs you credits, for instance you put in name and see how many hits you get then add fathers name/mothers name see how many hits you get add date see how many hits you get, you can narrow it down really well but only look at the ones that you have narrowed down. I hope that makes sense?
