Happy Canada Day : It was a day to make us proud in our own quiet way. Our genealogy brings us much closer to the trials our ancestors had in developing this country. My g-grandfather David McAuliffe, originally from Co. Limerick, carved his farm out of "The Queen's Bush" near Durham, Ontario. My g-grandfather Andrew Fogarty from Co Kerry (name originated in Tipperary) expanded his farm also near Durham in Glenelg Twp.
