Hello . I chaired a meeting of the descendants of Shannagolden Co. Limerick in 1998 ( I think ) in St. Francis Church Melbourne Australia who came here under the scheme arranged by the Landlord just after the famine 1845--1850 . Is there anyone a member at” ier-limerick@rootsweb.com “ who knows more about the event or the results of the famine . A lady in New Zealand would love to know how the people of Shannagolden survived the Famine for her ancestors left there later on .I have been made aware of Poverty to Promise and West Limerick Families books but would like some oral history .
