    3. Corrine Thank you for your response. The Registry of Deeds covers all of Ireland including rural and urban areas. The information in the memorials can be variable from something as simple as 'Bill Smith leased part of the townland of Whatever for 31 years at £5 per annum to John Smith'. Alternatively the memorial may give three generations of marriages with dates tracing ownership of the the lands involved for over a hundred years. Sometimes the ages of witnesses and or lives are given. The deeds may also mention current occupiers, previous occupiers, people living on adjacent land and detailed descriptions of the land. Many relationships are mentioned. Family members are often witnesses, lives and trustees.
