    3. Hi there, I have just joined this list and am researching my fathers fathers side of the family amongst many other lines. My grandfather was James BRIDGEMAN b 1895 Finoe, Shanagolden, Limerick. He was one of five children to Michael BRIDGMAN and Anastatia AMBROSE who were married 26 Jan 1889 at Newcastle, Co Limerick. Michael's father was Patrick BRIDGMAN. Amongst the many questions i have is who was Michael's mother and Patrick's wife -- donna from the land of the long white cloud (Aotearoa - New Zealand) Ahakoa he iti he pounamu (Even though it is little it is precious)

    3. Hi Donna I too have Bridgmans from the Shanagolden area. Kilcornan parish which neighbours it. There were Bridgmans all around that area including Askeaton. I feel sure they were all connected but have been unable to prove anything so far. My grandfather was Peter Bridgman, and there was a Peter Bridgman in Askeaton, his father from Robertstown near Shanagolden. It's not such a common name in Ireland.(Peter I mean) I met with a Peter Bridgman at Robertstown when I was in Ireland but he was unable to shed any light on his ancestry. One day maybe we'll make the connection. My Bridgmans in Kilcornan were John Bridgman and Ellen (Helena) Dwyer. Their son, John Dwyer Bridgman came to Australia, married a girl from neighbouring Dunmoylan, and they became my great grandparents. 3. Hi Beryl, your name is familiar to me but i am not sure if we have been in contact before. Are you on Genes Reunited. That may be where i have seen your name. I too feel that if i can get my great grandfathers siblings and mothers name and go back even more there is bound to be a Bridgeman/Bridgman connection. I get so frustrated at times but i am like a dog with a bone and keep researching and look all over the place. I hope to be able to get enough money together so i can one day get back to Ireland and follow up on more research but in the meantime with thanks to the internet i might find something one day. I am currently half way thru the Mount St Lawrence Burial records and have come across a few Bridgemans and Bridgmans. The interesting thing is that some that are buried in the same plot have the differing name spelling. Michael and his family seemed to have moved around abit and they had property in Whiskey Hall and Ballyhahill. Knocknabooly was also mentioned. Hope we can come up with a connection sometime soon and keep in touch cheers donna On 6 September 2012 01:38, Beryl O'Gorman <bezbri@optusnet.com.au> wrote: > Hi Donna > I too have Bridgmans from the Shanagolden area.
