Kathy Rhodes, Little House Antiques, posted a mention of a Shanahan family. I have an interest in this family because John Shanahan and his wife Margaret emigrated to America more or less at the same time as my Rowles family who were from Cloonteen, Doon, Limerick, settled in the same place (Washington Co, NY) and later migrated to the same place, Waupun, Dodge/Fond du Lac Co., Wisconsin where they are all buried in Calvary Cemetery (1913 ae 86 and 1903 ae 80). Their daughter, also named Margaret, was born in 1854 in Union Village, Washington Co, NY and married George Benjamin Rowles (later Rowells, s/o Luke and Margaret) who was born in 1850 in Easton, Washington Co, NY. They married in 1881 in Waupun, WI. Because John and Margaret Shanahan were always close to the other Cappamore/Doon people as they crossed the US, it is quite possible that they were also from Doon. Although this is not a good match for the emigrant John Shannahan (too young), this baptismal record may be useful one day: >From Doon Church records, as transcribed by Pat Connors and posted on _http://www.connorsgenealogy.com/LIM/baptisms.htm_ (http://www.connorsgenealogy.com/LIM/baptisms.htm) : Shanahan John; father John ,mother Connors Margaret, 1/3/1836 Doon sponsors:Tim Connors, Ellen Shanahan. I hope these folks may fit into one of your families and that someone has info to share with me. Ann Lamb
