    3. Sorry for late reply to this Joan - yes I'm a member of FIBIS, which has reminded me that the Chairman, Peter Bailey, is giving a talk, twice, both in London entitled "The Irish in India 1790-1920". You don't have to be a member to go along, and details are on the website (url below) under Events Calendar. Not a lot of use if you are in Australia of course, but keep your eyes on the site afterwards as these talks are often recorded and made available later. Joss >>Have you looked at Embarkation Records or the FIBIS site www.fibis.org I've plenty of patience, sometimes :-} will keep persevering with my search for Thomas Sims and his father. Kind regards and I hope you find your Irishmen also. Joan

    3. Hi Joss No worries. I would love to be able to attend any of Peter's talks, but as you said a bit hard from Oz. I also wish I could attend the talks in Co Clare, Ireland which is where my fellow who went to India was from...I'm sure there is so much more information out there that one can access and by listening to these great speakers you learn so much. I will definitely keep an eye open for any recorded talks that Peter may give, especially on the Irish in India.
