Steve, The Brideswell prison is actually in Kerry but very close to the Limerick Border and I must say I was confused at first. The O'Shaughnessy Rally was held in Tarbert on 2 occasions and on the first we visited the Brideswell Prison Museum. Apparently a lot of their prisoners were sent to Australia. They were flying the Australian flag which was a bit tatty so when I came home I sent them a new one, courtesy of our local member of parliament. There is a little teashop and information centre there and the ladies were delightful. If I were you I would make contact perhaps after googling Brideswell Museum and they will be only too happy to help you if they can. Hope that is some help.
