I took a look at familysearch and found this one. Yes, the name of the database is: Ireland, Marriages, 1619-1898 The link for the database is: http://tinyurl.com/familysearch-ireland-marriages Under Search by Life Events, Click on MARRIAGE In the Marriage Place Box that pops up type in Limerick, Limerick, Ireland and hit ENTER Scroll down to FILTER YOUR RESULTS BY: Click on MARRIAGE YEAR and will be able to see the breakdown by centuries (1600's, 1700's etc) If you click on the 1600's link it will list ALL the marriages that occurred during that time period in the city of Limerick (64) and quickly looking thru them you will see that the marriages for Limerick don't begin until 1697 and run thru 1699. (So even though this database has marriages as early as 1619 there are NO marriages recorded in the city of Limerick between the years of 1619-1696.) So where does the database tail off? Are there records for the city of Limerick until the database stops in 1898? NO! By trial and error I figured out that the marriages for the city of Limerick STOP in 1882. So to recap here even though this database runs from 1619 to 1898 the records for the CITY of Limerick run specifically from 1697 thru 1882. One important thing about this database: Although it tells you the marriage place, for example it might say: Saint John, Limerick, Limerick, Ireland - it does NOT tell you WHICH of the two Saint John parishes it is referring to (and there are two parishes for almost EVERY parish name in the city of Limerick--one being Saint John Church of Ireland and the other being Saint John Roman Catholic). In order to determine WHICH parish, you need to go to the IFHF site at http:www.rootsireland.ie and (do the FREE search as outlined in my tutorial at http://tinyurl.com/IFHF-Tutorial) and plug in the values you found at familysearch.org (name, date, spouses name etc) and drill down to the parish level and determine WHICH of the two parishes that record actually comes from! For example: George Elish married Eleanor Burk on 18 Jul 1697 in Saint John, Limerick, Limerick, Ireland. If I go to http:www.rootsireland.ie I find that this marriage occurred in the parish of ST. JOHN'S (CI) [CI being the IFHF's designation for Church of Ireland]. Happy Hunting!
