George, Peter, Christina, Thanks for your replies and the VERY helpful info. Glenbrohane is the same parish from which Michael's daughter, Julia Quirke, was buried in 1953. It appears in earlier years, the family parish was in nearby Glenroe (& Ballyorgan). Michael's townland was Ballintober (he was in the 1911 census with Julia) but I have seen a death record for a Michael Cronin, approx. age, in Elton...will now pursue Elton. Will also check that 1911 Elton census!! This list has once again sent me in the right direction! Pat
