Hi Cris The name of the Catholic Church in Rathkeale is St. Mary's R.C. Church Canon Dempsey Fr. Russell Clerk- Mary Kennelly(if she is still there) I just went directly to the church during mass and after mass waited a few minutes and went around to the back door, knocked and Canon Dempsey answered. I told him what I was looking for and he directed me to Mary Kennelly. They have the records on a database and she left for about 10 minutes and came back with printed records of marriages and birth entries for Barrett's.She realized in her rush that she had forgotten to bring one sheet of marriages and so I transcribed 5 of them from the book right there.I gave her I think 50 Euros and headed off. I had written a letter addressed to Canon Dempsey a year earlier and received no reply.( I didn't enclose any money in the envelope at the time but I think my mistake was not writting directly to Mary Kennelly and enclosing a fee) This is a link to records available http://www.from-ireland.net/lim/limrcindex.htm Lawrence On.
