    2. Hi Virginia & List Thank you very much for your reply Virginia. I guess the power outage messed me up today, actually my mailbox wasnt full so I dont know what happened. I have the following information that was sent to me, it has everytihng on it, but unfortunatley I cant remember which ist the person who sent it to me is on ( Andy P. are you on this list??) so I dont know where they got this information. I have also included an excerpt from another source which I know is incorrect. If anyone has any clues how I might find where this information was found perhaps I can look it up and see it or send for it. Although I don't know where to send for it or if I can.Can anyone advise me on that also. Thank you very much. (*Thank you Andy P. for this) next I find Margaret Curry's "History of Platte County Nebraska" says that James came to the US in 1848 and married Ellen in Montreal Canada in 1857. Then I find, and I forget where I think Andreas history of Nebraska. I omitted some.. the 7th of Dec was when their child was born (supposedly) <snip> .......7th of December, 1857, his parents being James and Ellen (Langan) Carrig, both of whom were natives of Ireland. They had five children, of whom but two are now living. The Carrig and Langan families both emigrated from Ireland to the United States as passengers on the same sailing vessel in 1850 and were three months in crossing the Atlantic. James Carrig, who was a farmer by occupation, was married at Urbana, Ohio, and afterward removed to Illinois but in August, 1859, came west to Nebraska, settling in Platte county. He lived there for a period of forty-one years, following agricultural pursuits and as one of the earliest settlers of the district witnessed many of those stirring scenes of pioneer life which have become almost a forgotten dream of the past......" and it continues with his biography
