Hi Helen Yes, I know parts of your family would love to know more especially re Timothy. Main info I know is that Margaret was married to John Canty at Campbelltown, when he died she married John Raleigh also from Ballyhahill area. These Raleigh's were related to Hurley's of Whiskeyhall (Finnoo). Where she settled south of Cootamundra around Cungegong (Frampton) area there were also other families from the same area in Ireland such as Michael Coughlan, Murtagh and Thomas Culhane and of course John Hurley who had the Cootamundra run. Also there was Patrick O'Donnell who's uncle James Fitzpatrick was born Newcastle West and is known by his association with Hume the explorer, he also had land there. There are no Hynes at the Glin schools Margaret may have had a sister Elizabeth Hynes who married Patrick Culhane (Loughill) on the 27 Feb 1867; their witnesses were Michael Hynes and Michael Culhane. All their children were baptized in Glin and are as follows: Mary 1867 sponsor Ellen Nash Ellen 1869 sponsors Thomas and Johanna Culhane John Jan 1870 sponsors Michael and Johanna Culhane Michael Mar 1871 sponsors Michael and Anne Hynes Catherine Feb 1873 sponsors Maurice Culhane and Anna Hynes John* Sep 1874 sponsors Michael Hynes and Bridget Culhane Bridget Dec 1877 sponsors John and Maria Mulvihill Anna April 1876 sponsors Thomas and Maria Mullins *The first John may have died. On Mary's entry they are listed as living at Loughill Kerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ken & Helen Harris" <khar9172@bigpond.net.au> To: <irl-limerick@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 17, 2008 4:56 PM Subject: Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] HYNES family > Hello Kerry, Was very interested to read the post below. Dear Kerry, Thank you so much for your email. Will try and find more information about Timothy Hynes to see where he fits in with other researchers. Margaret had a brother listed with her at time of the 1846 statement of Finnoo. They must have been at another school. Have not heard of Elizabeth. up till now. If you have the time could you please check the Bounty lists of passengers from Limerick for HYNES/CANTY. My GrGrandfather, John Canty came from Croom and his parents were Thomas Canty and Mary Hogan married 1808 Fedamore Parish. Their children William b 1811, Sarah b 1816, Patrick b 1819 bap at Fedamore and John born c1819 (no bap record) As far as I can see Thomas siblings were Michael and Alice and their parents, William Canty and Mary Connors. I believe there was a protestant marriage further back, hence the name 'William'. Hope this makes some sense for you. Regards,.
