    3. Hi John Thanks for the information. This will give me a starting point. I have a marriage record for a Blaney which might tie into my clan, still working on that. In the record it states that he was from Co. Leinster, Ireland and one hospital record states that he was from Ballyan or Ballyna, Ireland. The hospital record was ddifficult to read so this might not be the correct spelling. This was a French institution and so it was most probably spelled phonetically. Any idea where this Ballyan or Ballyna might be? Thanks Barbara-Ann On Feb 16, 2008 10:05 PM, john walton <vabre1@optusnet.com.au> wrote: > Hi Barbara -Ann, > John Grenham states the following numbers of Langan's and Blaney's in all > of > Ireland at the time of the Griffith's Valuation as follows. > Langan... > Donegal 30, Leitrim 3, Mayo 77, Sligo 17, Longford 18, > Roscommon 7, Westmeath 20, Meath 38, Dublin City 13, Galway 12, Offaly 3, > Kildare 10, Laois 1, Waterford 9, Tipperary 1, Limerick 5, Kerry 12, Cork > 3. > > Blaney... > Belfast City 7, Antrim 33, Down 24, Armagh 1, Meath 1, Dublin > 3, > Cork 1, Galway 2, Westmeath 2, Rosscommon 1, Mayo 2, Tyrone 9, Donegal 3, > Derry 9. > > John...Sydney > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "barbara-ann aye" <barbaraann.aye@gmail.com> > To: <irl-limerick@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Sunday, February 17, 2008 10:50 AM > Subject: Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] Langan records > > > > Hi Chris > > > > I have a Patrick Blaney born abt 1805 Ireland, son of Daniel and Mary > > 'Margaret' Kilduff who married Mary Langan in Ireland bef 1830. 3. Hi Barbara-Ann, In the Griffith's Valuation I have found a Henry Blayney in County Donegal in the Parish of Clondavaddog and the Townland of Ballina. Maybe this is one of yours.
