Hi Ally was browsing tonight found the following and thought it might be of interest to some. Cris <snip> The Church of the Latter Day Saints, Dooradoyle Rd, Limerick (061) 309442, - hold the indexes to all births, deaths and marriages that took place in Ireland from 1864 for Catholic records and slightly earlier for non-Catholics. The information gained from these indexes can be sent to the General Register Office, Joyce House, 8-11 Lombard Street East, Dublin 2 (01) 635 40 00 http://www.groireland.ie/ and for a fee (see website for details) a photocopy of the original register can be purchased. As for parish records, it will depend on the church as to whether you can get access to them other wise you will have to go to the National Library to access almost all the parish records on microfiche."
The LDS also have some of these registers on film so the cost is only the hire of the film ABD you get to see the register yourself. Regards from Valerie in sunny Sydney.
