Yes, have found this to be true for some sites. Some are quick to charge you up front but then slow to credit your card when you cancel but can tell you this was not the case w/ Footnotes.com. Did have to give cc info but no charge ever appeared on my statement -- believe they don't actually charge you until AFTER the 14 day trial period has elapsed (but not sure about this so READ their cancellation policy prior to embarking on a trial).
