    3. John Almost all prerogative will were destroyed in the Four Courts fire in 1922. Sir William Betham made abstracts of most prerogative wills and administrations prior to 1800. Betham extracts are available through the Mormon Family History Library service. Sir Arthur Vicars published an index to the prerogative wills of Ireland up to 1810. This is available on CD from Eneclann http://www.eneclann.ie/ There are quite a few abstracts of wills by other people in the National Archives. These include some of the consistory wills. PRONI and the Genealogical Office have other will abstracts. At the National Archive you can consult the extant will and grant books. They have indexes to all grants of probate and letters of administration. From the middle of the 1800s there are short extracts naming the main legatees and to whom the probate or administration was granted. Newtown Pery is the suburb or area of Limerick developed by the PERY family in the latter part of the 1700. The Earl's of Limerick are of the PERY family.
