    3. Hello List, I don't know if this information is accurate but, shortly before the Limerick Heritage Center closed, they told me the LDS had filmed all the Ireland parish records but only about 40% were available.....the Bishops decision. However, when I visited the Cleveland Diocese, same problem, LDS beliefs goes against everything Catholics believe in. So the bishop will not release the records. To me it does not make sense. Then there was the privacy issue from the secretary I talked to. I said, "these people are dead, why do they need privacy?" You would have thought I threw water in her face the way she reacted to that. So that was about 12 years ago and I still do not have records from Cleveland, hoping to lead me to the village in Limerick Co. on my Dennis Hogan and family. Dennis born May 1850 per the 1900 census. Now what? There are some (very few) Catholic records the LDS has filmed and I think it depends on the powers that be that are interested in genealogy and sympathetic to researchers. 3. I will tell you that I have in my possession all the records for my local Catholic cemetery and I won't release them because the LDS would film them. We are too far apart in beliefs and I would rather they didn't get their hands on them. I could go on and on but it would start a war, so will stop here. 3. Either none or all. If you are going to make some available, what is the difference in making all available? Doesn't make sense to me. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judith Mason" <judith.mason@ameritech.net> To: <irl-limerick@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, February 22, 2008 11:32 AM Subject: Re: [IRL-LIMERICK] LDS RECORDS, ETC. > Hello List, > > I don't know if this information is accurate but, shortly before the Limerick Heritage Center closed, they told me the LDS had filmed all the Ireland parish records but only about 40% were available.....the Bishops decision. > > Judie Mason > Chicago > > Carole Lubbers <clubbers@earthlink.net> wrote: > Steve, I agree with you.
