I am confused Patti, I am doing look ups for Bounty immigration to Australia NSW 1828 to 1842 which is a CD. And also 'A Pauper Warren' a book written by Gerard Curtain of Ballyhahill about the famine in the Shanagolden/Ballyhahill district. Then I am writing a book called 'The Shannon to The Crooked' which among many other families covers two Purtell families both convicts from Limerick to Australia and one became a very large squatter. I am assuming that you are interested in the book 'A Pauper Warren' there is a mention of a James Purtill as there are four pages on him it is too much to type out and not fair re copyright. So I will give you a brief description it's about agents to landlords evicting their tenants and occupying such lands. On November 22 1848, James Purtill and his brother Michael's house was attacked along with Ellen, Michael, Pat and Thomas Liston. This was around Moneymohill and Whiskeyhall (Finnoo) pp 56, 57, 65, 66 if this relates to your family it maybe worth getting the book from a library. Kerry If you come across this line I would be most grateful Anne Culhane a servant girl born in Co Limerick in 1809 she was sent to trial in Limerick on the 30 August 1830 for sheep stealing and convicted to seven years transportation.
