    1. [IRL-LIMERICK] Possible overcharges at IFHF

    3. In taking a look at this months credit card statements I see what may be overcharges from Irish Roots for searches done on the IFHF website. I took advantage of the 5 Euro offer, but it seems I was charged the full 10 Euros. The entries read 10.00 978 1.593 15.93 10.00 seems to be the 10 Euros 1.593 seems to be the exchange rate 15.93 the amount of US Dollars I was charged. I don't know what the 978 represents. This happened 3 times in March 2008 and twice in December of 2007. I have just querried IFHF, but thought I would let the list know immediately so you can check your records. I will post thier response as soon as I receive it. Charlie in NY

    3. Charlie, I went crazy this past weekend, used the site, supplying funds 3 times. Anyway, just checked my bank statement (used debit card) and all seems to be in order according to what posted today on the transaction summary page. I 'bought' 40 euros credit, they debited 63.+, I then 'bought' 20 euros credit, twice, and they debited 31.+ twice .... exchange rate approx 1.58 which is the 'going rate'. NOTE, each cert that you 'buy' would NOT be on your credit card statement. Only the amount that you funded. The individual purchases would be deducted on the site. So, in my case, I 'bought' 20 which was debited from my card. The site showed 20 as 'available. When I 'bought' one cert, their tally went down to 15. When I bought another, the tally went down to 10, etc. They didn't make another debit to my card with each transaction. Clear as mud?<g> Hope this helps, Maureen On Tue, Apr 1, 2008 at 1:37 PM, Charlie <cndsteele@verizon.net> wrote: > In taking a look at this months credit card statements I see what may be > overcharges from Irish Roots for searches done on the IFHF website. > > I took advantage of the 5 Euro offer, but it seems I was charged the full 10 > Euros. > The entries read 10.00 978 1.593 15.93 > 10.00 seems to be the 10 Euros > 1.593 seems to be the exchange rate > 15.93 the amount of US Dollars I was charged. > I don't know what the 978 represents. > > This happened 3 times in March 2008 and twice in December of 2007. > > I have just querried IFHF, but thought I would let the list know immediately > so you can check your records. > > I will post thier response as soon as I receive it. > > Charlie in NY

    3. Maureen, Thanks for the note and the memory jog. You're correct - each debit was for 10 Euro's and I did 2 searchs per. My apologies to the List, now to square things with IFHF.
