Hennessy, a private of the Sixty-ninth New York Volunteers, died at Tampa, on Friday, July 15, after a short illness. Mr. Hennessy had been in this country but a few months when he enlisted into the regiment just before it was mustered into the United States service. He was born in Kelmer- ich, County Limerick, and was a nephew of Archbishop Hennessy of Dubuque, Ia. His home in this city was at 155 East Thirty-third street. NOTES: The 69th Regiment of New York was what was commonly referred to as the "Irish Brigade".
