O'CONNOR -- John O'Connor, one of the most prominent and widely known men in Northwestern Ohio, passed away at his home in Lima, July 21. He was a member of the City Council from 1872 to 1886, and president of that body for two terms, and as a member of the city Board of Trade he was a leader, and through his efforts many public movements were successfully organized. Mr. O'Connor was mar- ried to Miss Sarah O'Connell in 1858, who to- gether with five sons and four daughters sur- vive him. During life Mr. O'Connor was an ex- emplary Catholic, and although his life was a busy one, he found time to assist almost daily at the Hold Sacrifice of the mass. He was born in the County Limerick, Ireland, Nov. 27, 1835. He came to America in 1848. The funeral was held at St. Rose's Church. Solemn requiem high Mass was celebrated by Rev. J. B. Mooney, as cele- brant; Rev. Father Boehner of Rensaelar, Ind., as deacon; Rev. James Burns of Glendale, as sub-deacon, and P. J. O'Connell, a seminarian, as master of ceremonies. Rev. A. Siebenfoer- cher of Kenton delivered a beautiful and touch- ing eulogy.
