I do think they need to improve things as time goes on but it sounds to me like they are being responsive to the feedback they're getting. Auto responses are nothing new, imagine how many emails they get! But they responded to me personally when I had questions about specific records and someone also shared an email from them about how they're considering the possibility of giving more information to help with marriages (I deleted it so can't reference it accurately) and they decided to keep the price at 5 euros for a longer time, all due, I'm sure, to the feedback they're getting. It's not much more, and less in some cases, than getting records here in the US, and we don't get to see the records first, either. In fact, we have to pay for the search, whether or not the record is even found, and then it can be the wrong record, anyway. I think constructive criticism will help make the service better, more than talking people out of using it will. Personally, I would rather they had a subscription-style service. Maybe there will be a deal with Ancestry in the future. I don't know if that would be good or bad. lol I'm sure they're getting lots of complaints so I'm going to let them know that I appreciate them making the information available online and keeping the price low, and that when I learn enough about my other Irish families to start looking for records on them, I hope the IFHF is still there and even better. Now there is a reasonable and optimistic outlook. ----- Original Message ----- From: <JoForLife@aol.com> To: <irl-limerick@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2008 12:25 AM Subject: [IRL-LIMERICK] IFHF >I do think they need to improve things as time goes on but it sounds to me > like they are being responsive to the feedback they're getting. > > Auto responses are nothing new, imagine how many emails they get!
