Hi Carla There should be no problem with sharing the map as it comes from Maurice Lehihan's History of Limerick which was published in 1866 and so is long out of copyright. Are you aware of the local studies materials on the Limerick City Council website. I have put up a lot of material since the site went live last June - it's at http://www.limerickcity.ie/CityLibrary/LocalStudies/ . Hi Mike, Thank you so much for the map. Would you mind if I share the map with people on a couple of yahoo groups. One is for Limerick and one is for people all over Ireland. I was wondering if you would keep these Fitzgeralds in mind when you are looking at things in the Library. Attached is a map of Limerick from 1865. You can see George's Quay along the north side of the Abbey River. Newtown Pery is the whole new part of Limerick developed in the late 17th, early 19th century which covers the area from William Street at the northern end to Barrington Street at the south. As to what is the 'most public part of Newtown Pery', this is difficult to say. It is most likely but not necessarily the Pery Square/Pery Street section. Hi Mike, I figured it out. Moft is probably Most. After looking at some of the other articles, in most of the words that I would expect to see an s they had put an F. Probably something to do with the language of that time. I still need to figure out what George's Quay is though? Again thanks so much. Hi, Do you do inter library loan on the films of the Limerick Chronicle to the USA? I am looking for an article in the paper on May 5th, 1804. It states that Attorney and Notary Public John Fitzgerald is advertising his house in Newton Pery for Sale. I would like to get a copy of this article. I don't know if you have the ability to scan and email it. Carla Johnson Stockton, California, USA
