Have shelled out lots of dough on the IFHF site w/ precious little to show for it BUT have had one success and that is that I've finally figured out the parents of my 4 SHANAHAN siblings (3 of whom were Priests in Co Limerick)! Yeah! Fr. Timothy R. SHANAHAN (c1828 - 14 May 1915) Fr. Gerald aka Gerard Augustine SHANAHAN (18 Aug 1839-Feb 1919) Fr. Denis Ryan SHANAHAN (1843-28 Jun 1924) Patrick SHANAHAN (1841-28 Aug 1865) were children of Patrick SHANAHAN and Ellen RYAN. Fr. Gerald aka Gerard Augustine SHANAHAN was born in the townland of Ballinanima (don't ask which of the 3 because the record didn't say), in the Roman Catholic Parish of Kilfinane. Sponsors were Timothy SHANAHAN and Hanora RYAN. Think townland where Gerard/Gerald was born may have been Ballinanima (Massy) based on the fact that there is a Timothy Shanahan in Ballinanima (Massy) in the Griffith's Valuation.
