A little background: over a year ago, on IrishGenealogy, I got a "hit" on the birth/baptism of a Denis Rohan, 1844, Limerick; IrishGenealogy showed I could get the record from LimerickGenealogy. My letter to LimerickGenealogy and their reply to me has been discussed before on this List. Bottom line, I never ordered the record from LimerickGenealogy. Yesterday, I rec'd an e-mail from the Irish Family History Foundation that 1 million BMD records of LimerickGenealogy had been added to their site. I went to that site...plugged in Denis Rohan, 1844, Limerick...paid the 10 Euro to "view". Voila...there he was, with the parents I had hoped for. Certainly, at 10 Euro each, it is not "one stop shopping" for every person on your Limerick tree. But, sometimes, even one record can help. Note: If I had ordered it through LimerickGenealogy, a year ago, the cost would have been 30 Euro. I am very grateful that LimerickGenealogy has allowed their BMD records to be put on the Irish Family History Foundation site. Incidentally, the record showed: Denis Rohan was baptized on March 22, 1844, son of Timothy Rohan and Margaret Casey...St. Patrick's Parish. Unfortunately, the line that usually has the townland shows a question mark. It's a "small chink" in my wall, but I'm happy with any tiny piece of information I can get.
